The first place we entered in Rye, apart from the hotel, was an antique shop.
Imagine my surprise to find the tail fins from a Soviet MiG Fighter for sale!

There was also this Art Deco poster of Bexhill-on-Sea, featuring the town’s iconic Art Deco/Moderne De La Warr Pavilion:-

And a jolly elephant (the company’s logo is an elephant) on a French (language) advert for Côte d’Or milk chocolate with the added bonus of an Art Deco style building in the background:-

Rex Bio, an Art Deco/Moderne shop, Helsinki city centre:-

This building, complete with horizontals, verticals, curved wall and flat roofs was on the way out to the Sibelius Monument:-

There was quite a lot of Deco style (certainly Moderne style) in Warnemünde. Most of it is of relatively recent construction though.
This was directly across the River Warnow from the ship’s berth. Loads of horizontals and verticals, then there are those semi-circular projections at the entrance:-

From beach. Wellenrausch Restaurant and Cafe. Kurhaus. Paulo Scutaro Ristorante. Hellas Greichische Gastlichnet. Rule of three in windows, canopies, rounded ends.

This also fronted (backed?) onto the beach:-

Seebad, Eines der schönsten erholungsgeblete der Ostsee, (one of the most beautiful relaxation spots on the Baltic Sea.) Sweeping curves, plus horizontals and rule of three in windows:-

On the walk back to town there was this shop. Meermode (Sea Fashion):-

This is possibly more moderne than Deco. A house off the A 711, just south of Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway.
It’s possibly very recently built.

This lies opposite Gayfield football ground.

Entranceway. The balcony and canopy above the door, the windows in and beside the door, plus the rounded corner to the left – and the flat roof – are deco features. The glazing has been mucked about with though:-

Showing rounded corner, balconies, strong horizontals and verticals:-

The west coast of mainland Norway has a collection of islands off it which provide a reasonably sheltered passage north (or south.) Many ferries ply the waters, a vital lifeline in the days before North Sea oil and the building of roads to remoter regions, and still going.
Karmsund Strait is a passage between the island of Karmøy and the islands of Vestre Bokn and the mainland in the east.
The MV Black Watch approached the narrowest point of the strait towards nightfall:-

These were electric pylons on Karmøy but not I think the ones on the photograph on the link above:-

The very elegant Karmsund Bridge crosses the strait’s narrowest point:-

Closer view. Note more pylons:-

Karmsund Bridge from below:-

Reverse view:-

The area was fairly built-up compared to the previous parts of Norway we’d seen:-

There was even a house which might be described as Art Deco:-

These were more Moderne than Deco:-

By the riverside on our approach to the Vizcaya Transporter Bridge I spotted this beauty:-

The doorway had some fine detailing:-

This port/marina building is also in the deco/moderne style. Spot two ships’ funnels behind it:-

Closer view. It’s like an 1930s airport tower only with porthole windows:-

Reverse view looking back to Getxo. Those “English” buildings are prominent to the upper left. The main part of Getxo itself is off to the right:-

There was another Fred. Olsen line ship docked at the same time as ours, the Boudicca. Both are seen here from the pier approach:-

SS Black Watch. The bow has a very angled rake:-
