Holy Trinity Church is in the centre of St Andrews, in what is a kind of town square, two sides of which are pedestrianised. It is the traditional Parish Church for the town and was where John Knox helped to start the Scottish Reformation.
For some reason it was open when we were in the town in September 2024 so we took the chance to have a look around.

The pulpit is fairly elaborate and lit up from within:-

The wooden ceiling is also worth a look, containing several armorial crests:-

Great War memorial window:-

Now on the wall of the Church of St Martin is a plaque commemorating the war dead of the Church of St John the Evangelist, Windermere, which closed in 1995. My photograph came out blurry so I link to this, which believe it or not is a clearer photo.

The central window here has a dedication to Lieutenant John Reginald Lingard, Suvla Bay, 21/8/1915:-

Arbirlot‘s Great War Memorial is in the form of a stained glass window with a cartouche set into the wall of the church (St Ninian’s.)

Also in the graveyard I found a Commonwealth War Grave and three gravestone mentions of war deaths.
