Curiously this War Memorial was only dedicated in 2015. It certainly has the look of one only recently constructed. It is situated in the town’s Market Place set off from it by replica artillery shells. Information about the town’s original War memorial is on this webpage.
This side has representations of a World War 2 soldier and sailor plus two Royal Navy ships and a Spitfire.

The reverse view is emblazoned with a Lancaster bomber and poppies replacing the Spitfire:-

More pictures taken at the National Museum of Flight, East Fortune Airfield, East Lothian, Scotland.
A Czech S-103:-

Lockheed Lightning. I forget which country’s livery this displays:-

The obligatory Spitfire:-

Messerschmidt Komet. This was a rocket propelled aeroplane as I recall:-

Vulcan Bomber:-

The images of two bombs/missiles under Argentine flags on the fuselage of the Vulcan signal the two raids made by this bomber on the Argentinian forces at Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands during the conflict in 1982. The flag of Brazil is because the Vulcan was forced to detour by engine trouble and land in Brazil after one of the raids.

Hawker Harrier:-

Before you get to the museum entrance at Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre you pass these hangars which date from before the Great War:-

Then there’s the obligatory Spitfire. This one’s named Red Lichtie. There is an Arbroath connection, though this one is probably a replica of the original:-

More up to date (well, 1950s) is this Gloster Meteor:-

This artillery piece, an anti-aircraft gun, is also exposed to the elements:-

Prominent too is this memorial to all those RFC and RAF personnel who served at Montrose Air Station:-
