I mentioned here the works towards replacing the old bridge over the Back Burn at the eighteenth green of Balbirnie Golf Course.
Those works were completed some time ago. I finally got round to photographing the new one in March (and to posting those photos now):-

In the background of the photo above you can see the remaining old bridge at the other side of the fairway.

In March we were wandering down the Back Burn quite near to our house and I spotted a small bridge which I had previously never noticed. Mind you it was almost totally concealed by greenery and in summer it will be much more so.

A bit downstream there is this sluice gate which I may have posted before (but it’s not evident on a quick search):-

The old Balbirnie Estate had some extensive grounds. About half of these were converted to a golf course. The rest makes up what is now Balbirnie Park.
The back burn runs from the upper part of the former estate – now sold off for housing – between the golf course’s 18th fairway and green before wending through the wooded area of the Park.
There are some exposed tree roots on the burn’s banks in the upper estate:-

Part of the burn is very shaded:-

We often take a walk through the woods and beside the burn. There are three wooden bridges over the burn after it passes the golf course. This is one of them:-
