Live It Up 139:  Always the Sun

As I said before The Stranglers were – are – my brother-in-law’s favourite band. I doubt he could tell you the number of times he’s seen them play live.

Anyway, here’s one of theirs from 1986.

The Stranglers: Always the Sun

Reelin’ in the Years 213: No More Heroes. RIP Jet Black

The Stranglers, whose original drummer, Jet Black, died earlier this month rode the punk wave but were never part of it – possibly because of his jazz background.

Here’s the band in its heyday but taking a 1977 Top of the Pops appearance not entirely seriously.

The Stranglers: No More Heroes

Brian John Duffy (Jet Black): 26/8/1938 – 6/12/2022. So it goes.

Live It Up 66: Golden Brown – RIP Dave Greenfield

I wasn’t really much into the Stranglers. They were/are however my brother-in-law’s favourite band.

It was nevertheless sad to hear of Dave Greenfield’s death, especially since he contracted coronavirus while in hospital with a heart problem.

Golden Brown however I found very much to my taste.

The Stranglers: Golden Brown

David Paul (Dave) Greenfield: 29/3/1949 – 3/5/2020. So it goes.
