This was the debut single from Longdancer, the band that was Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame’s first brush with success – or lack of it.
It seems another of this band’s members, Kai Olsson, is a brother of Nigel Olsson, who for many years was Elton John’s drummer.
By the way. Should that title (and line) not be, “If it were so simple?” It’s the conditional, you know.
