Oh dear. We seem to have developed the habit of losing at home.
I heard on the radio we were 3-0 down and thought, “Well that’s it, then; a gubbing.”
Then we got one back, they had a player sent off, “Penalty,” I thought, and so it was. Back to 2-3 and I dared to hope for a miracle. Silly me.
I suppose they got their fourth because we tried for the equaliser.
At least we kept up our record of scoring in every game and the teams below us all lost too.
Dundee at home next week. Not easy.

I was browsing through the internet when I came across your blog. It looks very good. Thought I’d comment mostly because we share the same surname and pronounce it the ‘proper’ way. There’s not many of us. I also write, though I have not yet been published, mostly crime action-thrillers. My Deighton family (originally) were from the Staffordshire / Shropshire area.

Nice to hear from you, Edward.
And that you pronounce Deighton the ‘proper’ way.
My grandfather Deighton’s family moved up to Scotland from Southampton I think.
