This shows a comet hitting the Sun and moments later a Coronal Mass Ejection on the other side of the Sun as if the comet triggered it.

The pictures were taken by the SOHO satellite and the Sun-orbiting STEREO satellites.

The two events’ timings are most likely only coincidental but the images are startling.

To see stuff like this was only a dream when I were a lad.
