The move went okay but I can’t say we’re settled in to our new home yet. Too many boxes, too many books, not the same space.

QUOTE: Too many boxes, too many books

Last time we moved house, a box of books ended up on the bedroom floor in a perfectly random location. For something like two years, we didn’t get around either to unpacking the damned thing or even moving it out of the way.
Then, too, moving has a destructive influence. Benjamin Franklin, the famous American tightwad, self-promoter, and frantic sex maniac wrote (in “Poor Richard’s Almanac”), “three removes is as good as a fire.” BTW, the non-platitudinous illustrations in this work are actually very funny. Furthermore, Franklin had some good points, e.g., scientific curiosity and courage, so I’ll forgive him his flaws.

It’s not only the books we have littering the floor, Denis. It’s the plastic bags full of clothes, bedding and curtains. Not to mention too much furniture for a smaller hosue. We’re getting there, though. Slowly.
